Filling Advice

When purchasing a Grom Pad beanbag you are purchasing the COVER ONLY- fill the beanbag insert provided with 350 to 400 litres of Beanbag Beans (depending on how full you like them), or fill with your choice of shredded foam or eco filling. Beans may need to be topped up occasionally.

We recommend filling with a mix of Beanbag beans and shredded foam. Adding shredded foam helps children with sensory issues to noise, the foam buffers the beans and stops the rustling sound. Adding shredded foam also makes them more comfy and helps to eliminate the need for top ups.

Earth Friendly Beans- We recommend Envee Bio based beanbag beans. Envee beans are proudly made in Australia and are 100% plant based available at https://envee.eco

Standard Beanbag beans available at a department store near you, Kmart has 100 litre bags for around $11. Shredded foam can be found in places such as Clark Rubber, Amazon and TEMU.

To fill- (best with two adults)

1. Child Safety Zips require a paper clip to open and close (see picture provided)

2. Ask a friend to help- place bean bag insert provided inside the bean bag and open

3. Pour the beans or foam into the insert while inside the beanbag and zip both bags closed

WARNING-

- Beanbags are not for babies to sleep on

- Always supervise babies on beanbags

- Silicone based vegan leather can heat up in the sun, we recommend using in the shade or cover with a towel when outside.

- Take care when filling! We recommend two people to fill. Do not fill when babies, toddlers or children are present. Beans can suffocate if polystyrene beans are inhaled. Be sure to contain the beans and dispose of any runaway beans and plastic wrapping.

Care Guide

  • Wipe clean with soapy cloth or baby wipe
  • Avoid sharp objects
  • Do not bleach, machine wash, dry clean or tumble dry
  • Do NOT iron outer leather layer
  • Can iron inner fabric layer to release creases from packaging
  • Do not submerge in water- the faux leather is waterproof but the stitching is not
  • Beans may need to be topped up occasionally

Did you know that polystyrene Bean Bag Beans can actually be recycled? When/if you ever have to dispose of any, put them in a clear plastic bag (making sure they are not contaminated with anything else) and put in your recycling bin.
